This week is rough for me.
I'm constantly changing my mind, going back and forth, forth and back.
Jumping from app to app, is this the right one?
Substack takes 15% of your money off the top.
Go High Level wants $100 a month.
Between the two, $100 from nothing is less than nothing.
So now I'm frustrated . . .
Is this my call to adventure?
No sir, this is my call to confusion.
So I start leaving voice notes on my phone . . .
And the strangest idea comes to me.
Why not document my real purpose in life?
This is definitely my calling.
Why is screenwriting so confusing to newbies?
One small shift and now I can see.
It’s disruptive, but I have to ask the questions.
Who is going to finish Joseph Campbell's work?
Why does Joseph Campbell's monomyth work across the entire globe?
How does Screenwriting align with Mythology?
Can mastering Screenwriting teach us about psychology and Archetypes?
Will studying Screenwriting make me smarter and a more productive human being?
It's hard to imagine…
But this is my call to adventure.
This is my calling.
And I’m asking that you join me.
Don’t know where I’m going.
Don’t know why I’m going.
All I know. . .
Heed the call and take the first step.
And I scoff at others and scream out, just step out on faith.
But this is the first test.
And I shake my head, am I a loser?
No sir, this is normal.
Just one face amid a thousand faces.
Afraid to take the first step.
And I look around, but like the heroes before me. . .
There is no manual, no guidebook, no rule book, no online course or tutorial.
So I lean forward, sigh, and take one step.
Then another.
And now I know.
The step’s name is simple.
Break into Two.
But they don’t tell you this part.
It isn’t the story breaking.
It’s you breaking in two.
One part remains in the Ordinary World.
The new part moves into the Magical World.
And this is why most heroes avoid the call.
Who wants to be broken in half?
