Introduction

This blog post is a summary of the Yeeking Eras.

What is Yeeking?

Yeeking is the Unique and Eccentric Hip Hop Form of Dancing that originated in the Local Chapter of ATL Hip Hop.

Many people are not familiar with this type of Dancing or its influence.

So, let’s clear up the misnomers and lies right now.

πŸ’‘ This is not MC Hammer dancing, he came out in the early 90s and this type of dancing was done back in the early 80s in ATL.

This is not East Coast dancing, a member of F.D.C. (Devyne Stephens) was commissioned by P-Diddy to do all the Choreography for their Videos when Bad Boy hit the Hip Hop Scene in the 90s.

For those who need a “time reference,” Yeeking was done to the following tracks:

  • 1983 – Clear by Cybotron
  • 1983 – It’s Like That by Run D.M.C.
  • 1985 – The Show by Doug E. Fresh And The Get Fresh Crew

So, one last question?

Where was MC Hammer and Bad Boy when these songs were on the Radio?
