Therrell High School Talent Show
Kool-Aid and Raheem perform their signature song, Cause It’s Awesome, against Breakers (Broken Arms and Crooked Legs) and a newcomer (FDC – the First Yeek Group).
FDC wins the Talent Show at Therrell High School and defeats Kool and Raheem.
NOTE: FDC will CONTROL all Talent Shows for nearly 2 years until they lose to Guess at Mays High School in 1986.

Kool-Aid and Rapp Opera Man record the 2nd Rap Song in ATL History (Kool, Smooth, Fresh as can be).
NOTE: The first song is by Mojo and it was released in 1982.
Kool-Aid has to change name because of Legal Issues
When he signs with Curtom Records in 1986, he is UNABLE to release the song using his name Kool-Aid and he is legally forced to change his name to Kool-Ace).
Due to these legal issues, Kool’s songs and their release dates are pushed back.

Kool-Ace records his rendition of Janet Jackon’s track, Funny How Time Flies (When You’re Having Fun) and puts it on tape, but it is not commercially released.

Raheem and DJ Toomp (The Rahim Twins) release their first song – Raheem the Dream.
Raheem records Eliminator in the SWATS
Gwell is in the parking lot and building when Raheem records Eliminator on Campbellton Road.

Raheem releases He Said She Said/Eliminator.
Miquiel and Lee First Demo
Miquiel and Lee go over Mike Fresh’s house and record their first 2 songs to battle against Run DMC’s Track, Darryl and Joe.
Just like the Run DMC Track, Miquiel and Lee decide to use both an 808 and a 909 in their track.
After recording the two songs, Mike Fresh notifies the crew that he is leaving for Miami tomorrow to join Luke Skywalker Records, so if you lose this tape, I don’t have a backup.
Lee is driving a Green Chevy Nova at the time and begs Gwell to keep the tape.
Unfortunately, there is a leak in Lee’s car and the tape is destroyed.
