Redefining Mental Illness

Overview

I have a problem with the way things are going in this country, who doesn’t?

So, I’m starting this series to help direct my energy in a positive direction.

I hate the way corporations and high-level officials have designed this SYSTEM to either exploit (a little) or exploit (a lot) its citizens, those that are so-called low on the totem pole.

Let’s be brief, I mean, who has time for a 2 minute rant?

In this country, the medical community has labeled mental illness as a psychological problem and that is INCORRECT.

Yes, incorrect on all counts!

What we term mental illness is not psychological, it is a biological problem.

What has creeped into the medical community is laziness and neglect. Just because your doctor can’t figure out what went wrong and doesn’t want to spend the time to truly figure it out, it’s labeled psychological.

What does this matter?

  • If a problem is psychological, it’s the PATIENT’S fault.
  • If a problem is biological, it’s the DOCTOR’S fault.

This small decision was made in a board room in a dark corner somewhere and has an incredible IMPACT on people in this country, especially minorities.

What are your thoughts on this?
